User Account vs. User Profile (Microsite) in OneTapConnect
OneTapConnect operates using a company-based hierarchy. Each company contains its own user profiles, and each user profile represents a microsite. A person may belong to one or multiple companies while using a single login.
User Profile / Microsite
A user profile represents a person within a specific company and is unique to that company.
-
All information stored in the user profile (including contact details) is used to power the user’s microsite
-
Each user profile corresponds to one microsite
-
User profiles are company-specific and do not carry over between companies
Company Super Admins, Admins, and Managers have full access to manage user profiles and microsites information.
User Account
A user account represents a person and is used only to access the OneTapConnect platform.
-
Used for authentication and security
-
Belongs to an individual, not a company
-
Can be linked to multiple company user profiles
-
Provides a single point of access to all microsites the user is associated with
-
Does not contain public-facing profile or microsite information
-
Can only be edited by the user who owns the account
A user account allows a person to sign in once and access all companies they have been invited to.
Simple way to remember
-
User account = how you log in
-
User profile = how you appear inside a company
