How To Use the "Connect" Button

Use the "Connect" Button on Your OneTapConnect Digital Card to Seamlessly Collect Information, Book a Meeting or Start a Conversation Built to Convert

The “Connect” button is designed to help you start more conversations, generate more leads and ultimately close more deals. This function can be integrated directly into your company’s CRM or booking solution software, or it can be used to start a conversation in a way that is quick and unassuming.

The “Connect” button has three distinct and customizable behaviors:

  • Text message (auto-populated and addressed to the cell number saved to your profile information)
  • Booking form (requires embed code to your appointment scheduler/booking page)
  • Embedded form (requires embed code to CRM contact form or similar resource)

Like every other call-to-action button on your digital card, the “Connect” button is intended for your prospects and clients to utilize while they are viewing your digital card on their own mobile device.

In other words, the “Connect” button is not intended for you, but for anyone who might want to start a conversation, book a meeting or get more information about your products or services.

If you are the owner of your own account, you can configure the behavior of your digital card’s “Connect” button on the Lead Capture tab of your profile information on the OneTapConnect mobile app or online dashboard.

If you are the owner, admin or manager of your team’s account, you can set up the default “Connect” button behavior for your team's digital cards from the Lead Capture tab of the Company Information page on your OneTapConnect account dashboard.

Text Message

The default behavior of the “Connect” button enables someone to send a text from their phone to yours with just a few clicks. This text includes a pre-written, auto-populated message that includes your name and a link to your digital card.

This may seem confusing at first, as it involves someone else texting you your own name and digital card, but this function serves a few important functions:

  • It allows someone to rapidly start a conversation with you where they feel confident about who they’re communicating with.
  • It establishes a text thread where both parties can share information that is easy to reference later.
  • It enables you to collect someone’s cell number in a very casual and unassuming way—perfect for networking and generating leads on the go!

Booking Form/Embedded Form

If you use a CRM like HubSpot or GoHighLevel, or if you use a booking solution like Microsoft Bookings or Calendly, you can integrate these systems directly into your OneTapConnect digital card(s) for an enhanced user experience and streamlined lead generation.

Most CRMs and scheduling softwares make it easy to embed a form or booking calendar on a webpage, and you can typically find this embed code under a given resource’s share or integration options.

Simply copy and paste your embed code into the appropriate “Add embed code here…” box on the Lead Capture tab, then click “Save” to add it to your OneTapConnect account.

Once saved, embed codes can be assigned to buttons and icons within the Visual Editor, or you can configure the “Connect” button to use embed code instead of creating a text thread—just make sure to select the behavior associated with the type of resource you’d like the “Connect” button to pull up under “Connect Button Behavior" on the Lead Capture tab.

Once this is set up, your prospects and clients can use the “Connect” button (or another button or icon) to pull up a contact form, scheduling page or similar resource that’s saved to your OneTapConnect account. In practice, embed code will function much like a pop-up on your digital card, and any submissions will be sent to whichever system hosts and manages the embedded resource that was submitted.

The result? An elegant user experience for your clients, and more high-quality leads and appointments made on the spot for you. Now that’s what we call a win-win!
